I dropped into The Moose Espresso after it caught my eye a few times while zipping past on a GO-RIDE. It’s quaint with a dark, chill vibe. In front, a covered patio with a few small tables and a long bench replete with cushioned seats. Inside you’ll find a couple of leather sofas, a mix of odd height wooden tables and trendy, welded metal seating. The fusion of nature and urbanism blend together nicely with the retro electronic decor and custom wall art.
The Moose has some conveniences hard to find elsewhere, including access to cigarettes at the counter and a cooler full of beer and other bottled goodness within reach of patrons. In addition, The Moose is the only cafe I’ve been to in Bali that serves you a cold bottle of water the moment you sit down.
Coffee is reasonably priced here, and made with their in-house beans. A Long Black will run you Rp 24.000 and they offer a Ristretto as well as a Red Velvet Latte. Food offerings include an all day breakfast menu, smoothie bowls including your standard Pitaya and one they call the Honolulu, as well as salads, sandwiches and even a “Happy Ending”.
I was caught off-guard with the Wi-Fi speeds here. Upload throughput is faster than co-working spaces you might pay upwards of Rp 200.000 just to gain access to. And the download speeds are nothing to blush at either.
As for plugging-in, there are probably more outlets than their are chairs at The Moose, so no worries if you’re running low on juice. And one last thing of note, if you prefer to work standing, there are two standing-height tables where you can do so to save yourself any discomfort from the metal chairs.
