Near the beaches and shops of Sanur, just a short ride from downtown Denpasar is a three-floor Brooklyn-style café with a well-shaded, cool interior called Milestone Coffee.
Downtempo hip-hop and lo-fi music fill the air at Milestone. I had to Shazam at least two songs while I was here for my first visit. Immediate additions to the Immunity playlist I’m assembling after leaving Spotify for Apple Music.
The menu at Milestone is coffee-focused, helping keep the place relaxed and quiet—a welcome reprieve when dinnertime crowds can become disruptive. The contents of which consist of typical espresso-based drinks like the long black, flat white and dreamy gelato-filled affogato. Somewhat unique to this cute little café are the caramel and honey milk lattes – something you don’t see every day.
In addition to coffee menu they also have milkshakes, smoothies and fresh juices. I tried the blueberry-banana smoothie and it was so good I had to double-down on a second.
One flight up the rear stairway reveals a second, larger room with several seating options and comfortable enough for 20–30. Seating is both cushioned and non, and a turntable sits near the one-person restroom located above the staircase.
Downstairs near the bar is a row of cushioned bench seating with some individual tables built specifically for computering. And next to that is a counter with raised stools seating an additional 4–5 people.
There’s no smoking inside Milestone, but it’s easy enough to slip out front to one of the two four-tops on the patio to enjoy your rokok. Just don’t plan on working outside; it’s not equipped for more than socializing and sees directly sunlight early evening.
All in all I enjoyed Milestone and will plan on coming back next time I’m in the area and don’t find myself coworking at Kumpul. Definately check this place out when you’re in the area and need to plug-in or have an in-person business discussion.
